Being told that coastlines are difficult to do in 3D Itried myself.
The mountainrange consits of several box-primitves modified by hand textured using Johnny Ow's free plugin "Terrain Material". The sea is displaced by various noises. It's texture is a result of combining the displacing noises with various shadings and transparencies. The shore's texture is handmade usind various images and blends an noises. The moon in the background is an image I got at NASA and modified to fit here.
The relatively high object-count is a result of spreading a bunch of trees across the mountains at certain places to add detail.
