Reading the news (comp.graphics.packages.3dstudio) I got aware of Ian Skinner and his holy war against warez and all he considers belonging near there. Being somewhat a crusader I was thinking about granting him a prize and I considered this gothic theme to fit to his aims. I never actually granted this to him, since I'm not sure wether or not he has enough self-humour to cope with this (Ian, if you are reading this contact me!).
The hand was done using box-modelling with massive "polygon-monging" and meshsmoothing for the hand and wrist. The fingernails are individually designed and shaped meshes to fit each finger. The Nail is a "simple one" (two cylinders). The plate is a bevel. The Sign holds the text carved in using boolean ops. The Texture for the wall and the wood are from the net. Booth have been aftertouched and hold more than just "diffuse: bitmap". The textures for hand, the nail, the sign and fingernails are selfmade.
It took two and a half days to finish (including some bone-structures and linking) the Image.
