The Assos of antquity is nowadays Behramkale, which is said to be called after a byzantine general.
The small and cozy hotel at the harbour of the antique town of Assos was the first one to be founded here and has been in existence for thirty years now. It got its name from the owner, Yildiz, meaning "star".

The obliging and ever cheerful
son of the founder, Hayrettin Yildiz, modernized it without changing the charming atmosphere of times long gone, added one storey and in the off-season is constantly striving at improving the comfort of this harbour resort.

It offers 8 rooms in total, all with a nice view over the tiny harbour. The honeymoon-room has got an open fire, 2 rooms actually consist of two rooms for up to five guests, the others have got 3 beds. All of them have got bathrooms, some with a small bath-tub.

Althoug it is a small hotel, its three restaurants offer the In front of hotelcomplete range of the blessings of the Turkish cuisine. The indoors restaurant has got a huge open fire, the summer restaurants are a floating one in the harbour and the shady roof-restaurant with a breathtaking view over the harbour on to the blue mountains of the Greek island of Lesbos, some 12 kms away.
