For the nature-lover the natural and artificial water courses are a feast for the eyes. The stork and the otter raise their young one here. Heron and curlews stroke about the far pasture land.
The nature protectorate "Flummniederung" is an extensive marshland with national meaning. After the “Timmeler Lake” was completed, which is almost suitable for every kind of water sport, the “Boekzeteler Lake” could be dedicated to the conservation with its environment.
