IPA friends met in the hotel "Piquerhof" of Aurich on 04.11.1977 at 20 o' clock . On invitation of Heinz Krüger, leader of the branch Celle, interested police officers met from the area Aurich, Norden and Emden, in order to create the first branch of Eastfrisia in Aurich.
Up to then the few IPA friends in this space were cared for by the branch Celle.
On 1.3.1985 the branch Emden originated from the IPA Aurich, also the branch Norden on 15.08.1986 and the branch Leer on 08.08.1988.
Branch Aurich cares for the IPA friends of the old region Aurich and the district Wittmund, at present there are 59 members.
In the past contacts were maintained with colleagues from Austria, Israel, Netherlands, Switzerland, England and the USA.
Alternating a "Bossel Match" (a special Eastfrisian sport) with the other Eastfrisian branches are executed annually, in which also meanwhile the colleagues from Westfrisia (Netherlands) and other guests take part.
