WINDMILL BAGBAND
The windmill of Bagband is a two-storey gallery Dutchman with miller house. The roof ridge height is approx. 17 m, gallery approx. 4 m, and mill wings approx. 21 m. The windmill is fully able to work and opened to be visit. Beyond this action days take place in the summer term, on these days the windmill grinds.
Various parts of the windmill are in a good condition. Cap, wind rose and sail wings were replaced in 1989. It became built in 1812 and belonged to the miller family Bohlen since then. The estate of the windmill changed into the property of the municipality Großefehn on January 1st, 1993.
Inspections at Sundays and bank holidays from 10.00 - 12.00 o'clock and 14.00 - 18.00 oclock. Master baker Rindert Fleßner bakes windmill bread within the summer months.

WINDMILL OSTGROßEFEHNIn 1804 Jann Fokken Müller built the windmill. The mill also produces current at 1900. 20 persons are employed in the windmill and the necessary bakery at this time. The windmill is used commercially until 1968. From 1969 to 1988 the windmill is used t as windmill and marsh historical museum of the municipality. In 1991 the municipality Großefehn purchased the windmill with miller house and annexes.
In 1992/93 the mill was modified and renovated completely with financial aids of the EC. While the single buildings were improved again in the old style, the windmill got in addition to the present inside construction most modern technology. The arising mechanical performance shall be changed into electrical energy. To this a generator was installed besides the pairs of millstones, this one feeds the electrical energy in into the net. The pilot project was created in cooperation with the technological high school East Frisia and the university of Bremen. This windmill shows thus historical windmill's technic, deduce with most modern electrical engineering and the possibilities of the wind energy use with historical windmills.
Today the gallery "Russian painting" is in the windmill and in the packinghouse, in the miller house is the tourism centre of the municipality Großefehn. The so-called "Mühlenhof" (barn of the miller house) operates as barn hotel and event hall.
The pancake ship "Antje" has been fixed in the Großefehn canal in front of the windmill. Today you get served pancake specialities, cakes and original East Frisian tea on a candle hot plate with "Kluntje" (special kind of sugar) and cream in the really comfortable atmosphere of this tjalk, and you are invited to rest here in the season.

WINDMILL SPETZERFEHN
Three-storied gallery Dutchman with miller house, grain windmill. The roof ridge height is 22.50 m, gallery's 9.80 m, wing length 22 m, and two pairs of millstones, various mill machines, window shades wings and wind rose.
The owner, Theodor Steenblock, purchased the 1818 built windmill in 1953. The windmill of Spetzerfehn is the only mill in East Frisia, which is operated professionally with wind power by miller Steenblock, and son.
Miller Steenblock is very open for inspection wishes (tel. 0 49 43/6 48).
WINDMILL WESTGROßEFEHN
Two-storey gallery Dutchman with miller house and annexes. The roof ridge is approx. 21 m, the gallery approx. 7.50 m and the wing length approx. 22 m.
In 1773 Hinrikus Reinder von Höveling built the windmill of Westgroßefehn. It burned off in 1880 and in 1889 suffered from a damage caused by lightning once again. The present building resulted in 1889/91. Heye Gerhard Onken overtook the windmill in 1893, which is in possession of the family Onken to this day; they use the windmill commercially in the context of the country trade led by the family. A basic renovation of the windmill was carried out from 1990 to 1993.
